The Mecklen Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel - Charlotte

Central location was a plus. Had standard room with an awesome view and wake-up service was available in it.

Didn't like the staff, some of them were kind of rude.

The breakfast was incredible, the food was outstanding! I was pleased with impressive room, which was complete with good pillows, at least a continental breakfast, comfortable beds. Location: the hotel was close to the restaurant, Charlotte for the first to see what the hype was all at highpoint.

Staff wasn't as friendly as they should be. Felt like a burden to them. Windows looking outside were filthy. Corners were dirty in room and bathroom. Tile floor in bathroom had nasty grout.

The door to the room would not shut completely with a 2inch gap at the top and the top side of the door was open. When you would push on the door it would shake back and forth. All the hall noise could be heard . People ran up and down the hall until 3am

The staff was extremely friendly. I took the hotel shuttle a few times and each of the drivers were very kind and funny.

I unfortunately got food poisoning during my stay, which led to an up close and personal encounter with the toilet. The toilet bowl was not clean on the upper part of the bowl on the front of the toilet (on the inside). This is a part of the bowl that is hard to see unless you are facing the bowl head on, leaning over it and looking back towards your feet.

Having a shuttle to/from the concert was excellent! I also loved that there was a safe, well-lit place outside to smoke. I didn't feel like I was in danger there, and that is very important as a young woman in a large, unfamiliar city.

I wish the bar stayed open later for after concerts.

Bed was extremely clean and comfortable! My stay was only 2 nights but it was amazing! I have absolutely nothing to complain about... When visiting the Charlotte area I will stay at this location again!

The King Leisure Room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, and tea/coffee maker, made snacks convenient. The room had air conditioning, a decent desk for work, and a private bathroom with good water pressure. The outdoor swimming pool was a nice touch for relaxation. The location had plenty of nearby restaurants and shops.

Everything was great.

I feel that the breakfast should be already in the price of the room.

Janet, Patricia, D'andre and all the staff were wonderful and pleasant. The facility was clean!

I loved the room especially the beds. The staff at the desk was great!! The only complaint we have is of the breakfast staff. We arrived at 10:15am. We were told that we could not have an omelete by the waitress though the chef was telling her that it was okay. She was also observed cutting off a family for breakfast staying that it had been put away though the peon was just standing in position waiting to put the food away. Another waitress said it was okay but the older meaner waitress denied the family. The nicer waters gave the family muffins and juice. It was 10:35am, breakfast was over at 11am.

Honor the breakfast time. Respect the customer's.
